Lok Sewa Puraskars to 75: Assam Government Declares Karmashree Awardees

GUWAHATI: On the occasion of Lok Kalyan Divas tomorrow, the Assam Government will give away the Karmashree Awards and the Lok Sewa Puraskars.

The names of the Karmashree awardees were declared today. The Karmashree Awards will be given in six categories. After the Chief Minister’s approval, the Administrative Reforms, Training, Pension and Public Grievances Department issued a notification in this regard.

For the Amar Majuli scheme, the Karmashree Award will be conferred on Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer Pulak Mahanta and group members Keshabananda Taid (ACS) and Irshad Ali. For ‘Ease of Doing Business’, the award will be conferred on ACS officer Anamika Tewari and group members Ajanta Sharma, Hemanta Kalita and Ishanu Shah. For the Model Housing Colony under PMAY-G, the award will be conferred on Dibrugarh Block Development Officer (BDO) Ranjit Kumar Buragohain. For Project Krishok Vardhan, the award will be conferred on IAS officer Masanda Magdalin Pertin and group members Banti Talukdar (ACS) and Dulal Das. For promoting eco-tourism in Borail Wildlife Sanctuary, the Karmashree Award will be conferred on IFS officer Tejas Mariswamy and group members Uttamananda Goswami (ACF), Arabinda Deka and Sachin Rajkumar. For rehabilitation of municipal solid waste at North Lakhimpur Municipal Board, the award will be conferred on IAS officer Sumit Sattawan and group member Casio Karan Pegu (ACS).

Meanwhile, the General Administration Department has announced that 10 government employees have been selected for the Lok Sewa Puraskar at the State-level from among the Assam Secretariat employees and employees in the directorate offices in Guwahati. Another 65 employees have been selected for this award at the district level. Thus, a total of 75 employees will receive the Lok Sewa Puraskar tomorrow for their work ethics, dedication, intergrity and punctuality. The award carries a citation and Rs 25,000. The government has also issued a notification regarding the one-year service extension of Lok Sewa Puraskar awardees.

The award function will be held at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati tomorrow. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will attend the function and hand over the awards.
