

Mankachar: In a significant discovery, the South Salmara-Mankachar Police busted a fake gold supply racket and arrested three persons involved in the illegal trade. Acting on a tip-off, police carried out swift action and recovered a substantial quantity of fake gold and other valuables.
The seized items from the accused included five imitation gold biscuits, ₹4 lakh in cash, and a set of ornaments made of gold and silver.
According to the sources within the police confirmed that the total estimated value of the seized items is about ₹24 lakh. The arrests amount to a major step in the ongoing effort of the police department to curb fraudulent activities in the region.
Subsequently, the accused are presently being interrogated by the authorities to trace the wider network and identify others possibly involved in the racket. The police officials have assured that strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty.
