OIL has strongly reacted to the fake news on Baghjan oil well fire

TINSUKIA: The Oil India Limited (OIL) has strongly reacted to the fake news on Baghjan oil well fire which was published in a local English daily on Wednesday.

The OIL in a press release clarified that the news that the fire had been doused by the Crisis Management Team was factually incorrect.

It stated that the main operation for capping and killing the well was yet to begin and the well continued to be on fire even as all the debris had been removed from the well site; and preparations were on for the well-capping operation.
