President's police medals for 14 State officials

GUWAHATI: Altogether 14 Assam Police officials and personnel have been selected for the prestigious "President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service" and the "Police Medal for Meritorious Service" on the eve of the Republic Day.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (BTAD), Kokrajhar Violet Baruah has been selected for the "President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service".

Those selected for the "President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service" are the Commandant of 22nd AP(IR) Bn, Likabali in DhemajiMuslehUddin Ahmed; SP of DarrangAmritBhuyan; Principal of PTC in DergaonDebashisSharmah; SP of GoalparaSushantaBiswaSarma; Inspector (UB) of Golaghat DEF Dipak Bora; Sub-Inspector (UB) DSB, Cachar DEF Imam Uddin Choudhury; Sub-Inspector (UB) CM's SVC, Guwahati Dimbo Ram Terang; Assistant Sub-Inspector (UB) Cachar DEF Niranjan Das; Naik (UB), Cachar DEF Anwar HussainBorbhuiyan; Constable (UB) CM's SVC, Guwahati PankajMahanta; Constable (UB) Guwahati Jitendra Kumar Singh Yadav; Constable (UB) Border Orgn., Guwahati Hemen Das; and constable (UB) Kokrajhar DEF Anil Rajbongshi.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has also announced the "AsadharanAasuchanaKushalataPadak" for the year 2020 for four Assam Police personnel currently working in the Special Branch (SB). The awardees are SI KorobiBikomiyaDeori, SB, Guwahati; SI DigantaBasumatary, SB, Guwahati; ASI ChittaRanjan Borah, SB, Guwahati; and constableWelsonKro, SB, Guwahati.
