GUWAHATI: Union Agriculture Minister and State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) election in-charge Narendra Singh Tomar doesn't feel the need for any discussion on the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) now. He meant to say that the BJP's policy and stance on the CAA are known to all, and that the issue was thoroughly discussed before bringing the Bill on it.

Addressing the media at State BJP Media Cell office at Khanapara here, the leader asserted that the BJP will come to power by winning more seats than the last Assembly polls.

"The people are satisfied with the developmental works done by the State government in the last five years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a positive attitude towards the development of the Northeast. So far, he has visited the region more than 50 times. He has also asked other ministers to focus on development of the Northeast," said Tomar.

Taking potshots at the Congress, Tomar said that it will lose its strength to be the Opposition after the forthcoming polls. He alleged the Congress of misleading the people of Assam. On the Congress' recent '5 Guarantee' campaign, Tomar questioned whether the party has implemented the 'guarantees' in the States where it has governments.

Tomar also alleged that the Congress is the most communal party in the nation. "Communalism and corruption are born from the womb of the Congress. The party always tries to build tension between two communities," said Tomar.

He underlined that the Congress has forged alliance with communal forces in West Bengal due to which many of its party leaders are not satisfied. Similarly, it has allied with the Muslim League in Kerala and the AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) in Assam.

"The AIUDF and communalism are synonymous. The people of Assam have realized the reason behind the alliance between the Congress and the AIUDF. The Congress will be surprised with the results in the forthcoming polls," Tomar added.
