Two Killed in Fatal Collision at Duliajan’s Bhadoi Panchali

Duliajan: A tragic road accident at Bhadoi Panchali in Duliajan on Tuesday, November 25, evening claimed the lives of two youths, triggering tension among local residents. The incident occurred near the Shanti Tea Estate factory area when a speeding tea-leaf carrying vehicle collided head-on with a scooter coming from the opposite direction.

One of the victims, identified as Lazar Burra of Chasani Aamguri in Naharkatia, died on the spot due to severe injuries. His companion, Nowas Munda, also from the same village, was immediately rushed to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in critical condition. However, despite emergency treatment given by the medical team, doctors declared him dead shortly after arrival.

Witnesses at the site said the impact of the collision was extremely forceful, leaving the scooter badly damaged. The accident raised anger and unrest in the area, with local residents alleging that overspeeding by commercial vehicles has become a frequent threat on this route.

Following the incident, a team from Bhadoi Police reached the spot in a short span of time and brought the situation under control. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and an investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the accident.
