GUWAHATI:
The ULFA (I) has demanded 95 percent job reservation for indigenous candidates of Assam in ONGC, OIL and IOCL. In a statement issued on Friday, the outfit served a seven-point notice to the three public sector companies functioning in the State.
The statement mentions that the ULFA (I) will abstain from armed operations against the companies only if their demands are met and that there is no other alternative to it.
The outfit demanded the companies to make public as to how much resources have been extracted out of Assam since their inception and what percentage of their profits has been received by Assam so far.
The outfit has also demanded that the companies appoint a qualified indigenous person to the post of Managing Director.
The outfit also demanded that each of these oil companies spend at least Rs 5 crore for the overall development of the state and to help people affected by floods and other natural disasters.
