GUWAHATI: On a two-day visit to the Northeast, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will meet the Chief Ministers, Chief Secretaries and the Directors General of Police (DGPs) of the eight northeastern states in Shillong on Saturday. He will discuss various issues, including inter-State boundary disputes, and the Covid-19 situation. He will also take part in several programmes in Guwahati and Shillong.

The Union Home Minister will interact with the Director-General of the Assam Rifles and jawans in Shillong. He will launch the Greater Sohra Water Supply Scheme.

He will land in Shillong around noon on Saturday. In the evening, he will meet the Chief Ministers, Chief Secretaries and the DGPs of the eight Northeastern States at the State Convention Centre. He will also discuss the functioning and plans of the Space Science and Technology Centre of the region.

Shah will come to Guwahati on July 25. He will inaugurate the Radio Therapy Block and a new LINAC machine at the State Cancer Institute in the GMCH. He will lay the foundation stone of the Tamulpur Medical College and Hospital virtually from Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra before winding up his visit.
