Mankachar: Hatsingimari Global Hospital in South Salmara-Mankachar marked World Pharmacists Day with a series of meaningful initiatives, combining community service with heartfelt remembrance. Patients were provided free meals, while a tree plantation drive was organised in honour of legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, paying tribute to his memory and praying for the eternal peace of his soul.

Speaking to the media, a hospital pharmacist highlighted the rising number of unlicensed pharmacies in the district, which he compared to “mushrooms growing overnight.” He cautioned residents against buying medicines from outlets lacking proper authorisation, stressing the importance of safe and regulated pharmaceutical practices.

The hospital’s pharmacists also lauded the leadership of Managing Director Dr Nazir Hussain Mollah. They noted that every staff member working in the pharmacy section of the hospital is a qualified professional, having successfully cleared the official pharmacist examination.

Reassuring the public, they underlined that Hatsingimari Global Hospital functions strictly in accordance with government guidelines and regulations, ensuring that patients receive safe and ethical treatment.

The day’s dual observance blending professional awareness with social responsibility not only highlighted the crucial role pharmacists play in healthcare but also underscored the hospital’s commitment to community welfare. The gesture of planting trees in memory of Zubeen Garg added an emotional note, reflecting the enduring bond between the people of Assam and the much-loved artist.
