Zubeen Garg Death Case: SIT records Statements of over 140 Witnesses

GUWAHATI: The SIT keeps on recording statements of witnesses in connection with the case relating to the demise of singer Zubeen Garg. So far, it has recorded the statements of over 140 witnesses. Speaking to the media today, SIT chief Munna Prasad Gupta said that the inquiry is going on in that direction. He said some members of the SIT went to Mumbai and came back with information and statements regarding Zubeen Garg’s treatment in Mumbai. “We have received most of the information from Singapore. We’ll get the remaining information from Singapore soon,” he said.

When asked about questioning several Bihu committees, the SIT chief said, “We recorded statements of several Bihu committees. We’ve included their statements in the investigation,” he said.

The SIT summoned Zubeen Fan Club general secretary Piku Borgohain for the second time today. The WhatsApp chatting between accused Shekharjyoti Goswami and Piku Borgohain has gone viral. The SIT seized Piku’s mobile phone and recorded his statement in the court.

Meanwhile, NK Production’s owner, Debo Borkotoky, appeared before the SIT that recorded his statement in the court. The SIT also recorded the statements of two other Bihu committees – Dharapur Anchalik Rongali Bihu Committee and Ramdiya Rongali Bihu Committee – today.
