Biswanath Hospital Face Lack of Oxygen, Ventilators?

The Biswanath Sub-divisional Civil Hospital appears to be facing a crisis as people have alleged that the hospital is without oxygen facilities and ventilators amid the growing COVID crisis. The locals of the area have expressed their concern about the lack of proper medical facilities in the Civil Hospital as the number of COVID cases and deaths continue to rise in Biswanath.

Hospital authorities have admitted that the situation was challenging given the rise in the number of cases, and at least 20 people died in Biswanath district. Critical patients are being referred to Sonitpur district for treatment.

As per health officials, the government provided two ventilators to the sub-divisional civil hospital in the last year but both are damaged and not working.

Biswanath district recorded 659 positive cases in the last 10 days.
