GUWAHATI: In a new turn of events, the Assam Police has now detained the sister of Baidullah Khan, the prime accused in the Vineet Bagaria suicide case.

As per reports, Baidullah's sister, Saira Khan has been detained in connection to a different case wherein she allegedly extorted money from a woman, forcing the latter to sell one of her kidneys.

Speaking to the media, the victim identified as Meenu Begum said that she had borrowed money from Baidullah's father Abdula Khan a couple of years ago but after failing to repay the money, Saira Khan used forced means to recover the money at an extraordinary interest rate.

Saira allegedly threatened Meenu and her family with dire consequences. With no options at her disposal, Meenu Begum sold one of her kidneys to clear the debt.

Notably, the victim also alleged that their family also approached the Dibrugarh police for help in 2020. But, no action was taken by the authorities back then.
