Early Life 

Ajoy Kumar Ray, son of Harmohan Ray, is a resident of Fulkumari village in the Chirang district of Assam. He is married to Chumki Saha. He is 34 years of age.

Education

He is a Bachelor of Arts from Gauhati University in the year 2012.

Career and Politics

Ajoy Kumar Ray contested the 2016 Assam Assembly election from the constituency of Bijni on a Bharatiya Gana Parishad (BGP) ticket. After a close fight, he lost to BPF's (Bodoland People's Front) Kamalshing Narzary, who secured 29,037 votes compared to Ray's 27,492 votes. He came second out of the eight contestants. The voter turnout percentage in that election was 88.68 percent. 

Ajoy Kumar Ray will be contesting the 2021 Assam Assembly election from Bijni but this time on a BJP ticket.

According to the nominations filed with the Election Commission of India, his and his spouse's moveable assets are worth Rs. 9,23,093 and Rs. 10,47,904 respectively and his immovable assets are worth Rs. 4,00,000.
