Guwahati: A 29-year-old man has gone missing after reportedly being swept away by strong currents in the Nyamjang Chu River in Arunachal Pradesh. The man had gone to the river along with six friends. During the outing, he reportedly entered the river and was swept away by the strong current while attempting to cross it.
After the incident, a search and rescue operation was launched to trace the missing man. However, despite continued efforts, he has not yet been located.
Team from the Indian Army are carrying out the search operation, with local residents also assisting the security forces in their efforts to locate the missing man.
The challenging river conditions and strong currents have reportedly made the search operation difficult. Rescue teams are continuing to search the river and its surrounding areas in the hope of finding him.
Indian Army and SDRF have urged people to exercise extreme caution while visiting rivers and other water bodies, particularly during periods of strong currents and adverse weather conditions.
