Delhi Rain : Man Turns Waterlogged Delhi Road Into Boating Route

Guwahati: A waterlogged road in Delhi’s Greater Kailash was turned into an impromptu boating route after a man was filmed riding a small raft through the flooded stretch.

A netizen, Shree Khandelwal, shared a video showing the unusual scene, which has since gone viral. In the footage, the man can be seen lying comfortably on a small raft with a paddle in his hand, while several people help push it through knee-deep water.

The men appeared to have rolled up their jeans to avoid getting completely soaked as they waded through the flooded road. The unusual sight gave the impression of a makeshift boating zone rather than a residential street.

The video carried a sarcastic caption referring to Greater Kailash as Delhi’s “posh” area and highlighting the irony of roads turning into waterways despite residents paying hefty taxes.

Meanwhile, heavy rain has caused widespread waterlogging and traffic disruptions across Gurgaon for the second consecutive day. People Delhi-NCR and officials have pointed to clogged drains, lapses in civic works and delays in dewatering operations as contributing factors.

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority has acknowledged that blocked drainage inlets are worsening urban flooding and has formed 12 enforcement teams to address the issue.
