IMD issues Orange Alert for Delhi as Heavy Rain Continues to Batter the National Capital

Guwahati: Today, morning heavy rainfall continued to lash the national capital, a day after widespread showers inundated several parts of the city, disrupting normal life and causing waterlogging in low-lying areas. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert, forecasting more heavy rainfall throughout the day.

As per the the IMD, the minimum temperature at Safdarjung, Delhi's base weather station, settled at 25.6 degrees Celsius, which is 1.3 degrees below normal.

Station-wise observations showed that Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius, 3.6 degrees below normal, while Lodhi Road registered 25.2 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees below normal. The Ridge weather station recorded 22.1 degrees Celsius, 4.1 degrees below normal, and Ayanagar reported a minimum temperature of 24.8 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees below normal.

The weather department has advised Delhiites  to remain cautious, as further heavy rainfall may lead to waterlogging, traffic congestion and disruptions to daily activities. IMD Department continue to monitor the situation closely as the city remains under the orange alert.
