Guwahati: 18-Year-Old Seriously Injured in Rukminigaon Hit-and-Run Case

Guwahati: On Friday, an 18-year-old youth sustained serious injuries after a speeding truck allegedly rammed into his scooty and fled the scene in  Rukminigaon area . The  accident occurred beneath the Rukminigaon flyover when the truck reportedly collided with the two-wheeler, throwing the rider onto the road. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Harshit Bora.

As per eyewitnesses, the truck was travelling at high speed when it struck the scooty. The impact left Bora seriously injured on the road,  people of that area,  rush to the spot and provide immediate assistance.

The injured  teenager was subsequently taken to Down Town Hospital for medical treatment. His current condition has not been officially disclosed.

Eyewitnesses further claimed that the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, leaving the injured rider behind without offering assistance. The incident is being treated as a suspected hit-and-run case.

Police team from Dispur Police Station reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and launched an investigation. Police said efforts are underway to identify and trace the truck and  arrest the driver.
