IAF Band to perform at Delhi’s National War Memorial ahead of Independence Day, marking 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ with a patriotic musical tribute.

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force Band will hold a special musical performance at the National War Memorial in New Delhi on August 9 as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

According to the Defence Ministry, the performance is aimed at promoting national pride and patriotism through public participation. The event will also mark 150 years of the National Song, ‘Vande Mataram’.

A total of 40 musicians will take part in the programme, comprising 32 Airmen and eight Agniveervayu, including three women.

Master Warrant Officer A Srihari will lead the performance as the principal conductor. He will be assisted by Junior Warrant Officers Moon Deka and Abhishek Paul, along with Sergeant NT Singh.

The performance at the war memorial is part of the government's efforts to commemorate Independence Day through public-facing programmes celebrating India's national spirit and military heritage.
