Imphal: Security forces in Manipur carried out a series of operations on Thursday and recovered arms, explosives and narcotics from different districts, Manipur police said.

As per the police, in Churachandpur district, a search operation in the Dampi ridge area led to the seizure of two 12-bore rifles, two single-barrel front-loaded rifles, one modified AK-47, and two 9 mm pistols with magazines.

Security personnel also recovered three magazines of different weapons, four pumpis, 81 live rounds of various calibres, seven fired cases of 12-bore ammunition, two bulletproof jackets, two walkie-talkies and about 1 kg of pompi explosive pellets.

In a separate operation in Bishnupur district, a .32 pistol with a magazine, three live rounds, a single-barrel gun, one high-explosive hand grenade, five 12-bore cartridges and a blank round were recovered from the Upokpi Khunou Mamang Leikai area and adjoining Loktak Lake.

Meanwhile, in Tengnoupal district, security forces seized three packets of WY tablets weighing around 3.5 kg from the Homeguard Veng area in Moreh.

In Imphal East district, three bunkers were destroyed in the Satang Hill range during another operation.

Police said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal activities and maintain law and order in the state.
