Assam: Chutia Body Requests To Preserve Cultural Resources

Guwahati: The Chutiya Yuva Sanmilan, Assam (CYSA) has raised for the preservation of the characteristic features of the community at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakhetra.

A CYSA delegation led by general secretary Koustav Kishur Chutia met the Secretary of the Kalakshetra today and submitted a memorandum. They said the Kalakshetra depicted cultural and traditional resources of various communities of the state through pictures, statues etc. "However, the Kalakshetra has not preserved any traditional and cultural resources of the Chutiyas, sons of the soil in Kamrup. We, therefore, request you to preserve the traditional and cultural resources of the Chutiyas in the Kalakshetra along with other communities," the memorandum said.
