Every year, the northeastern state of Assam celebrates a unique festival of “Ambubachi Mela”, also known as goddess Kamakhya menstruation festival. The gates are closed for 3 days, with the temple reopening after Ambubachi Mela on the 4th day of the festival, allowing the devotees to enter and pray to the divine goddess.
