GUWAHATI: The state BJP has expressed gratitude to the voters for the massive Panchayat election victory. The state BJP president Dilip Saikia said that with the overwhelming support of the people of Assam for the vibrant developmental journey of Advancing Assam, the BJP-led alliance has secured a historic victory in the recently held Panchayat elections. Terming the outcome as a victory for development and progress, Saikia said that the people of Assam has cast their votes to further accelerate the unstoppable momentum of progress under Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s government.
Saikia also expressed his deep gratitude to the nearly 1.81 crore voters of Assam for their unprecedented support in this Panchayat election.
He expressed hope that the elected representatives will play a crucial role in building a strong Panchayati Raj system and a prosperous Assam. He urged all elected members to serve the people with greater responsibility, competence, and a people-centric approach, contributing actively towards creating a self-reliant and dignified Assam.
Saikia further described the public mandate in the Panchayat elections as a mature and decisive verdict. He highlighted that BJP alliance candidates secured victories in over 80% of the Zilla Parishad and Anchalik Panchayat seats; he noted that this has resulted in the formation of near-opposition-free Panchayats, a significant development in Assam’s grassroots governance.
He emphasized that this massive mandate was earned due to the BJP government’s commitment to comprehensive rural development—focusing on the welfare of the last person in the society and implementing policies that positively impacted roads, drainage systems, bridges, education, health, rural infrastructure, and empowerment of women, youth, farmers, and students. Saikia reaffirmed that the BJP will faithfully implement every commitment made in its Sankalp Patra (manifesto) during the elections.
