GUWAHATI: The undergraduate (UG) admission portal has been made live for registration from April 11, 2025. In this regard, a regional SAMARTH Support and Coordination Centre (RSSCC), Assam, has been set up at Gauhati University to function under the control of the Higher Education Department, Assam, to execute the policy decisions of the state government to use the Samarth platform for admissions.

The RSSCC, Assam, will maintain the formal line of communication related to the end-to-end admission cycle of FYUGP (Four-Year Undergraduate Programme) and FYIMP (Five-Year Integrated Master’s Programme) for the academic session 2025-26 with the participating higher educational institutions in Assam in coordination with the Samarth team, New Delhi, and the Director of Higher Education, Assam, for a smooth and effective admission process.

In this regard, the Higher Education Department, Assam, has worked out the following operational modalities and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP):

(i)  Since admission is an academic matter and falls within the purview of the universities and other HEIs, they will hence manage the admissions in such a way as to assist students in navigating the digital admission process effectively. The centre will use a dedicated email: rsscc.samarth @gauhati.ac.in for communication with the HEIs and the Samarth team, New Delhi.

(ii) For all matters related to Samarth e-Gov in Assam, all communication from the universities and colleges to the RSSCC, Assam, should be sent to rsscc.samarth@gauhati .ac.in with a copy to dheofficial.documentation @gmail.com henceforth.

(iii) The government will primarily formulate the uniform policies, monitor the admission process and will issue administrative directives/guidelines from time to time, as deemed necessary, to ensure seamless and smooth conduct of a transparent admission process.

(iv) 4. The RSSCC, Assam, will coordinate with the Samarth cell of all standalone and affiliated universities and autonomous colleges offering FYUGP/FYIMP/FYUPGP admission to the academic session 2025-26 with intimation to the Higher Education Department.

(v) The Samarth cell of the concerned affiliating universities will further coordinate with their respective affiliated colleges for the purpose of admission.

(vi) The Director, CDC (College Development Council)/Inspector of Colleges of the affiliating universities will closely coordinate in the admission process with the academic and examination branch regarding active affiliated programmes, active departments and seat matrix in order to ensure that correct programme names, programme codes and programme structures are pre-configured before the commencement of the programme selection process.
