GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has taken strict action against a commercial establishment in Fancy Bazaar for unauthorized waste dumping. The establishment, located on SC Goswami Road, was found to be operating without a valid waste management agreement with the designated NGO, violating GMC regulations.

As a result, the GMC has imposed a fine of Rs. 95,000 on the establishment. This move aims to emphasize the importance of adhering to waste disposal guidelines and maintaining proper agreements to ensure a cleaner and healthier city. In a statement, the GMC reiterated its commitment to enforcing waste management regulations. The corporation warned that the business establishments failing to comply with these would face strict penalties.
