GUWAHATI: A team from Basistha Police Station has successfully cracked a snatching case within 48 hours of the incident being reported. Police identified and apprehended Arman Shah, a 28-year-old member of the notorious Irani Gang from Cooch Behar. The arrest followed a snatching incident reported at Nalapara earlier. During the operation, the police seized a black Pulsar motorcycle with a fake RC and a manipulated chassis number, which was used in the commission of the crime, along with a Hero Steel Bird helmet.
In a separate incident, a team from Gorchuk Police Station conducted a raid on a scrapyard located at Boragaon, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of suspected stolen property. The items seized include substantial amounts of electrical wire, copper wire, water taps, wash basin pipes, water pump motors, bathroom showers, electrical switches, brass water stop corks, and other materials. The owner of the scrapyard, Krishnan Prasad Gupta, has been apprehended in connection with the case.
In another incident, a team from Basistha Police Station has arrested Kulbinder Singh, alias Bubu, a 24-year-old veteran burglar from Last Gate, in connection with an ongoing burglary case. During the operation, the police seized one stolen NTorq scooty from his possession. In yet another incident, a team from Basistha Police Station has arrested a 24-year-old veteran snatcher named Hira Basfor, from Paltanbazar, in connection with an ongoing snatching case. During the operation, a VIVO mobile handset has been seized from his possession.
