Guwahati: Basistha Police Arrested Thieves, Further Investigation is Underway

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, a team from Basistha Police Station conducted a search operation at Kopira Bulbula, Agia, and arrested Salam Ali alias Babu (28), a vehicle lifter. A follow-up investigation led to the arrest of his associate Rabiul Hussain (32) from Tupamari. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and further investigation is underway.

In a separate operation, Basistha PS arrested Akash Sarkar (19), a thief from Lakhora, while investigating a theft case. His confession led to the recovery of three stolen LPG cylinders from Khanaka Chariali. Legal actions have also been taken against him. Another operation by Basistha PS led to the arrest of Rakesh Boro, alias Auto (20), from Dakhingaon during a raid at Sawkuchi near NEF College. A stolen Honda Activa scooter, which he admitted to stealing from near Modern English High School in Odalbakra, was recovered and seized from his possession.
