
Guwahati: The Career Development and Industry Relations Cell of Dispur College conducted the ‘Screening Test 1.0’ today – the 13th of June, 2025 – on the college premises as part of its flagship initiative—the Civil Services Coaching Programme – 2025 (UPSC/APSC Foundation Course).
Held in collaboration with the Takshashila School of Civil Services, Guwahati, the test aims to identify and support aspirants seeking structured guidance for competitive civil services examinations.
Conducted in OMR-based offline mode, the test was of 2 hours’ duration and carried 200 marks. The syllabus encompassed six key areas critical for foundational civil services preparation: Indian National Movement (1885–1947), Constitution of India, General Knowledge, Geography of India, Current Affairs, and Indian Economy.
A total of 75 students registered for the test. While a significant number of test-takers were current students and alumni of Dispur College, the initiative saw encouraging participation from candidates from a broad academic spectrum, including those from Cotton University, CDOE-Gauhati University, Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College, Pragjyotish College, Handique Girls’ College, Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous), Barkhetri College, and Guwahati College, a press release said.
