Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducts eviction drive at Kamakhya Gate

GUWAHATI: The GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) along with the Food Safety Department and the Veterinary Department conducted an eviction drive at Kamakhya Gate on Friday. The drive was conducted against illegal encroachment and clearance of footpath at Adabari Bus Stop.

The operation started from Kamakhya Gate and ended at Jalukbari point, under the supervision of GMC collector Pallavi Kachari. The drive was conducted following complaints against the selling of illegal meat at some shops at the Kamakhya Gate. The Veterinary Department along with the help of enforcement wing of GMC had conducted the survey.
