Guwahati: Water supply in several parts of Guwahati has been disrupted due to a leakage at a tapping point in Ramsahill. The Guwahati Jal Board (GJB), in an official statement on Monday, confirmed the incident and shared details of the affected areas.

According to the notice, localities including Joypur, Beltola, Happy Villa, Chitrachal, and adjoining areas are currently facing interruptions in water services. The leakage was detected earlier in the day, following which maintenance teams were immediately deployed to the site.

“Efforts are underway to fix the issue and restore water supply at the earliest,” the GJB said. Although no fixed timeline for restoration has been provided, the board assured that supply is likely to resume soon.

Meanwhile, residents have been urged to make alternative arrangements and use available water judiciously. The board also apologized for the inconvenience caused.

No additional faults have been reported in other parts of the city so far. However, the Jal Board has requested residents to report any further disruptions to their helpline numbers for prompt assistance. Further updates will be issued as repair work progresses.
