Guwahati: Police Arrested Drug Peddlers, Thieves in City

In a series of successful operations, the Guwahati police have arrested several individuals involved in various crimes, including drug peddling, theft, and robbery.

GUWAHATI: In a series of successful operations, the Guwahati police have arrested several individuals involved in various crimes, including drug peddling, theft, and robbery. In the first incident, a team from Panbazar Police Station raided a location at 2 No Railway Gate and apprehended a drug peddler, Bablu Neog, 24, from Bordoloi Nagar, Tinsukia. Police seized 7 vials of drugs weighing 10.57 grams from his possession.

In another incident, a team from Gorchuk Police Station arrested two thieves, Sagar Tamang from Boragaon and Mohibul Islam from Katabari, after they were caught with a reported stolen battery.

The Jalukbari Police Station also conducted a raid near the Kanta Bridge area and apprehended Rashmi Devi, 35, also known as Swabi Khatoon, from Kanta Bridge near Haj Bhawan. Police seized 26 vials of suspected heroin weighing approximately 35 grams and Rs. 900 in cash from her possession.

In a major breakthrough, the Azara Police apprehended four thieves at Jongorabori near the bank of Brahmaputra while they were moving in a Bolero vehicle bearing number AS-19-F-9509. The police found various tools used for committing theft inside the vehicle. The arrested individuals have been identified as Md. Ajit Ali, Md. Ahmad Ali, Md. Wajed Ali, and Md. Mohiruddin Ali. Another accomplice managed to flee the scene, taking advantage of the darkness.
