Guwahati: Thieves arrested; stolen items recovered in city

Guwahati: In a series of successful operations, Guwahati Police have cracked multiple theft and burglary cases, leading to the arrest of several accused and recovery of stolen items.

Acting on specific input, a team from Jalukbari Outpost apprehended one individual near Lachit Park, Jalukbari. Three stolen mobile phones were recovered from his possession. Legal action has been initiated.

In another breakthrough, a team from Basistha Police Station solved a burglary case with the apprehension of two minor suspects from Bongaon. Tools used in the burglary — including a hammer, an iron rod, a key, and a plus tool — were also seized. Legal formalities are underway.

Meanwhile, another team from Dispur Police Station arrested Hingleiwang Kuane (28), a resident of Tamenglong, Manipur, in connection with a theft case. Four stolen batteries were recovered from his possession. Legal proceedings have been initiated.
