GUWAHATI: A team from Basistha Police Station (PS), acting on credible intelligence input, raided a hideout near the Don Bosco crossing at Ram Mandir in Panbazar. During the operation, the team apprehended Hobib Ali (38), alias Motu, a known receiver of stolen goods from Fakirganj. The police recovered a Realme mobile handset, a POCO M6 Pro mobile handset, and Rs 402 in cash from his possession.
In a related case, a team from Basistha PS cracked a house break-in incident near Shiva Studio, where the victim was drugged and robbed. The police arrested two key accused named Haran Ali (40) and Fakrul Haque (35), both are residents of Hajo. A subsequent raid at Ratanpur Barkhalihamari led to the recovery of gold and silver ornaments, two stolen mobile phones, one Royal Enfield motorcycle, intoxicating capsules, and several stolen identity and bank cards. Technical surveillance and on-ground investigation revealed Haran Ali’s involvement in multiple similar thefts across the city. Legal proceedings have been initiated.
