Methamphetamine tablets seized by CID in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, a team of CID (Crime Investigation Department) arrested a person with a large consignment of methamphetamine tablets from the Islampur area near Haji MusafirKhana, Guwahati on Wednesday.

The drug peddler has been identified as Majibur Rahman Mandal from Hatiputa village in Dhubri district. The consignment contains 30,000 tablets under the brand name WY (World is Yours).

In this regard, a case has been registered at the CID Police Station. The team has also seized an auto rickshaw in which the apprehended accused person was carrying the consignment.

Approximate market value of the seized tablets is Rs. 45 lakhs.
