GUWAHATI: Samagra Shiksha, Assam (SSA) has achieved a remarkable milestone in the registration for the Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) programme, with 30,79,440 students’ registration from classes VI-XII for this highly popular programme of the Prime Minister. With this, Assam secured the second-highest position after Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which holds the first spot with 95% registration. Assam’s achievement stands at an impressive 89% registration out of the total enrollment of students in the upper primary and secondary levels.
In addition to student registrations, the programme has seen a noteworthy response from teachers and parents. A total of 169,217 teachers, including 158,871 from state board schools only, have registered for the programme. Furthermore, 24,523 parents from Assam have also signed up to participate in this enriching experience.
It is important to highlight that in the eighth edition of the PPC programme more than 3,56,68,702 registrations have been recorded nationwide, which was 2.26 crore participants in 2024. It is also noteworthy that for the pre-events of Pariksha Pe Charcha, eight students from Kamrup, Morigaon, Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Sribhumi, Cachar, Dhemaji, and Tinsukia districts have visited Delhi and Mumbai for interactive sessions with experts from different fields.
This initiative continues to be a platform that encourages students, teachers, and parents to engage in meaningful discussions about education, stress management, and learning strategies, a press release said.
