Meghalaya: Miscreants assault bike taxi rider, sets bike on fire in Shillong

Shillong: A Rapido (bike taxi) rider on Thursday was assaulted by a group of miscreants near Dr. H Gordon Robert Hospital in Jaiaw, Shillong. The miscreants later hijacked his bike and set it on fire.

Vivek Syiem, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP-City) informed that after assaulting the rider, the miscreants ran away with his bike and set the bike on fire near Wahingdoh Bridge around 8 pm.

The reason behind the offensive act of the miscreants is still unknown. ''Police is yet to make any arrest in this connection,'' said Syiem.
