AAKJCS, Deori Students’ Union stage dharna at Dispur Last Gate, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: On the fourth day of the session of the Assam Legislative Assembly (ALA) on Thursday two organizations registered their protests through dharnas at Dispur Last Gate. The Guwahati District Committee of the Sadou Asom Kalita Janogosthi Chatra Santha (AAKJCS) staged a dharna demanding ST status to the Kalitas, besides the formation of a development council for them. The Deori Students’ Union (DSU) also staged a dharna demanding inclusion of the Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India. They also demanded delimitation of the DAC constituencies.
