Five organization rend air at Dispur last gate with slogans

GUWAHATI: As many as five organizations rent the air at Dispur Last Gate with slogans against non-fulfillment of their demands on the third day of the Assam Assembly on Wednesday.

The Assam State Committee of the CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions) demanded of the State Assembly to adopt a resolution seeking central aid for industrial development in the State and another resolution against the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act).

The Anusuchit Jati Adhikar Mancha, Assam (AJAMA) staged a dharna demanding a satellite autonomous council to ensure equal development of Scheduled Caste people of the State.

The All Tiwa Students’ Union (ATSU) raised the demand for the inclusion of the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. They also demanded the government to free lands in tribal belts and blocks from the encroachers.

The All Assam Health Centres’ Female Attendants’ Association (AAHCFAA) staged a dharna demanding their reappointment, besides releasing their arrears salaries from 1991 to 2010.

The Sadou Asom Prathamik O Uccha Prathamik Vidyalaya Madhyanho Bhujan Karmachari Santha staged a dharna demanding hike in their honorarium up to Rs 5,000 per month from the existing Rs 1,000 per month. They also demanded the duration of their service for 12 months instead of the existing ten months, besides the issuance of appointment letters.
