GUWAHATI: The Raijor Dal on Monday stated that the party's president, Akhil Gogoi's election from the Sivasagar constituency is a symbol of unity, integrity and fraternity.
Addressing the media here, Raijor Dal working president Bhasco De Saikia underlined that Gogoi's election is the victory of uncompromising regionalism over nationalism.
"The foundation of Raijor Dal has been laid in the State's politics and we will restore the rights of the common man. The party is ready to practice alternative politics in the State with the spirit of uncompromising regionalism," said Saikia.
Further, the newly-floated party stated that it has accepted the verdict of the people. But, it expressed concern over Mitrajoot's win and has underlined that the result will affect the State.
"We expected the defeat of the Mitrajoot wholeheartedly. However, we honour the mandate of the people of Assam," added Saikia.
