Assam Assembly Elections 2021: Chutia body appeals to parties for candidature

GUWAHATI: The Rajnaitik Parikrama Samittee of Sadou Chutia Jati Sanmilan has appealed to all political parties of the State to grant candidature in Chutia dominating areas. Addressing the media, the Samittee's convener Nripen Saikia stated that party tickets should be given to Chutia candidates in Golaghat, Sarupathar, Teok, and Titabar. He underlined that the parties who do not give party tickets to Chutia candidates in the above mentioned areas will get a 'proper answer' in the forthcoming polls. "Even after so many years of independence, the Chutia community is politically weak. We will field our own candidates if the parties do not show their support to us. We will only support the parties who field Chutia candidates." Saikia added.
