Voter awareness programme conducted at Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: A voter-awareness campaign was launched by the election cell of Golaghat election district on Monday.

The people were being made aware about their voting rights through songs, dance and announcements through a mobile vehicle. The team campaigned at Kamarbandha and Bokolai in Golaghat assembly constituency under Systematic Voters Education & Electoral Participation popularly known as SVEEP guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

A song by Dr. Manas Pratim Das was also released on this occasion to create awareness among the voters. As a part of the awareness programme, the Gamkharu Bihu group performed Bihu Dance in different places to attract the voters.[Also Read: Assam Election Breaking News 2021]

In order to understand the sentiments of the voters in various places, leaflets containing some questionnaires related to voting awareness were also distributed among them. It is pertinent to mention that this programme has been adopted for the purpose of increasing the number of voters in some places under Golaghat election district in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
