The Gauhati University has decided to conduct all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) exams in online mode.

GUWAHATI: With the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Gauhati University has decided to conduct all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) exams in online mode.

It also notified that the PG examinations will commence from June 1 through June 15, while UG exams will be started from the second week of June.

According to reports, an urgent online meeting was held on May 7, 2021, under the chairmanship of Prof Pratap Jyoti Handique, Vice-Chancellor, Gauhati University in which the Presidents and the General Secretaries of Gauhati University Teachers' Association Assam College Principals' Council decided to opt for the online mode of examinations. Assam College Teachers Association and all the Heads of the Teaching Departments of Gauhati University Principal University Law College. Director_ GUIST as wan as the Registrar, Secretary. University Classes. and Controller of Examinations and Executive Council members from amongst the Principals were present to discuss the ensuring examinations of Gauhati University.

After threadbare discussion on the matter and taking into account the current situation, the meeting decided that all pending examinations will be held in Open Book System in the online mode only The PG Examinations will be started from of 1st June 2021 and will be completed by 15th June 2021 while the UG Examinations will be started from 2nd week of June 2021. Necessary study breaks will be decided by the respective HoDs and Principals of the Colleges. Read more

A Committee is also constituted to streamline the system and to otter necessary suggestions to the Controller of Examinations.

A detailed notification will be published by the Controller of Examinations in this regard soon which will also contain information about the SoP for the online mode Issued with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.
