NFR RPF apprehends three touts with recovery of 15 e-tickets

* Personnel also recover four minor girls

GUWAHATI: The RPF (Railway Protection Force) of NFR (Northeast Frontier Railway) conducted raid at Jagiroad as well as Araria and apprehended three touts with recovery of 15 e-tickets within 48 hours and also rescued three minor girls at Katihar in distressed condition along with one runaway girl at Alipurduar Junction.

At about 12:55 on July 29, 2021, as per information RPF Post/Chaparmukh conducted raid and search at Hujail Computer Centre situated at Baramari, under Jagiroad Police Station in Moirabari District of Assam.

During checking, the RPF team apprehended the owner of shop, Hujail Ahmed. He is a resident of Baramari under Jagiroad Police Station in Moirabari District. They also recovered eight railway e-tickets (five live e-tickets valued at Rs 14,252 and three used e-tickets, valued art Rs. 573; the total worth Rs. 14,825. These e-tickets were generated through his own personal IDs. One laptop, one mobile phone were also seized. In this connection, a case has been registered at RPF Post/Chaparmukh.

Earlier on July 27, 2021, acting on information regarding touting activities by Mithun Digital Studio, located at Madanpur Bazar under Madanpur Police Station in Araria District, RPF personnel of Purnea Post conducted a decoy check.

During the decoy check, one e-ticket was booked ex- Araria Court to Danapur generated by using personal user ID. Immediately, the team headed by IPF/Purnea with the assistance of local police/ Madanpur conducted raid and search at the said shop and apprehended two persons namely, Amir Hussain of Chandbhag Village.

In another incident, on July 28, 2021 RPF Post/Katihar rescued three minor girls -- aged 9 years, 14 years and 15 years -- in distressed condition at the Katihar railway station. All of them are from Chirang, Assam. Later, the rescued girls were handed over to Childline, Katihar for safe custody and further course of action.

Again on July 07, 2021 during conducting check at Alipurduar Junction, on duty RPF staffs of RPF Post/Alipurduar Junction rescued one runaway girl, 19 years. Later, the rescued girl was handed over to her mother after proper identification, stated a press release.
