One arrested for duping people in Jamshedpur

GUWAHATI: The Crime Branch has arrested a person named Kamesh Pal (27) for impersonating himself as an official of Department of Health Service, Government of Assam. The accused, arrested from Jamshedpur was making phone calls to candidates appearing for various posts under the department and demanding money in lieu of the posts.

Pal is a resident of Garhwa in Jharkhand and till the time of filing this report he was being brought to Guwahati from Jamshedpur.

A case (03/2021) has been registered against him at the Crime Branch PS — U/S 420 IPC R/W Sec. 66(D) IT Act.
