Three 'Intercity Special' trains to resume in Northeast Frontier Railway Region

* Services of Agartala-Bangalore Cant. and Secunderabad-Agartala specials extended

GUWAHATI: The NFR (Northeast Frontier Railway) has decided to resume three 'Intercity Special' trains on a daily basis after August 15, 2021. It has also been decided to extend the service of Agartala-Bangalore Cant. summer special up to February 2022 and the Secunderabad-Agartala weekly special for five more trips each with the existing timings, stoppages and composition for the benefit of passengers.

These special trains are as follows: Train No. 05719/05720 Katihar-Siliguri Junction-Katihar daily Intercity special will be restored with effect from August 16, 2021. Train No. 05719 Katihar-Siliguri Junction Intercity Special will leave from Katihar at 06:00 hours to reach Siliguri Junction at 10:55 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 05720 Siliguri Junction-Katihar Intercity Special will leave from Siliguri Junction at 14:15 hours to reach Katihar at 19:15 hours.

* Train No. 05767/05768 Siliguri Junction-Alipurduar Junction-Siliguri Junction daily Intercity special will be restored with effect from August 16, 2021. Train No. 05767 Siliguri Junction-Alipurduar Junction Intercity special will leave from Siliguri Junction at 16:45 hours to reach Alipurduar Junction at 23:20 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 05768 Alipurduar Junction-Siliguri Junction Intercity special will leave from Alipurduar Junction at 05:45 hours to reach Siliguri Junction at 10:30 hours.

* Train No. 05769/05770 Alipurduar Junction-Lumding Junction-Alipurduar Junction daily Intercity special will restore with effect from August 17, 2021. Train No. 05769 Alipurduar Junction-Lumding Junction Intercity special will leave from Alipurduar Junction at 03:45 hours to reach Lumding Junction at 13:40 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 05770 Lumding Junction-Alipurduar Junction Intercity Special will leave from Lumding Junction at 15:05 hours to reach Alipurduar Junction at 00:50 hours the next day.

* Services of Train No. 02984/02983 Agartala-Bangalore Cant.-Agartala summer special have been extended to run up to February 2022. Train No. 02984 Agartala-Bangalore Cant. summer special will run on Tuesday from August 31, 2021 to February 22, 2022 and Train No. 02983 Bangalore Cant.-Agartala summer special will run on Friday from September 3, 2021 to February 25, 2022.

* Services of Train No. 07030/07029 Secunderabad-Agartala-Secunderabad weekly special will run for five more trips. Train No. 07030 Secunderabad-Agartala special will run on August 9, 16, 23, 30 and also September 6, 2021 leaving from Secunderabad on Monday. In its return direction, Train No. 07029 Agartala-Secunderabad weekly special will run on August 13, 20, and 27 as well as on September 3 and 10, 2021 leaving from Agartala on Friday.

The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available in Railway's website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of N.F. Railway. Passengers are requested to see these details before undertaking their journey.

On arrival at their destination, the passengers will have to adhere to the prevailing health protocols of the destination State. All passengers are requested to co-operate with the Railways and the respective State government officials in this regards, stated a press release from NFR CPRO (Chief Public Relations Officer) Subhanan Chanda.
