Transport Department seized 14 buses on the second consecutive day of Enforcement drive

GUWAHATI: Continuing its drive against erring city buses plying in the city, Transport Department continued its special drive for the second consecutive day by deploying 20 teams of enforcement officials. In total 14 vehicles were seized on Friday, seven e-challans issued and a total of Rs. 14,500 was imposed. Drives have been conducted specifically to check display plate of ‘Route No.’, ‘Route Permit No.’, ‘Police WhatsApp No.’, ‘Road Safety Slogan’, closing of doors of the buses while in motion, proper usage of entry and exit doors, recanalization of route permit in different routes etc. Four senior officials in the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Transport and Assistant Commissioner of Transport are supervising and monitoring the enforcement activities by the teams on the spot.
