Vaastu rules for Wednesday

Wednesday is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is considered very auspicious to visit the Ganesh Temple and worship Lord Ganesha on Wednesday. Ganapati or Ganesha is known to increase the intellect and remove a lot of vaastu doshas (defects). Although we can worship any type of Ganesha statue, the following ones are highly recommended.

Statues of Ganesha made of Neem, Mango or Peepal leaves are very good over the main door. These leaves bring positive energy inside the house which in turn brings wealth and peace.

Ganesha made from cow dung mixed with earth calms down the atmosphere in the household and also repels insects and negative energy. Worshipping such an idol is also beneficial for health and wealth.

Crystal Ganeshas are very good for removing vaastu defects. Since crystals do not have any negative effects, they can be placed wherever there are vaastu defects. Along with Ganeshji, Goddess Lakshmi should also be worshipped for wealth and luck. Statues of Ganesha made with turmeric are also considered very auspicious and these statues usher happiness. Moreover, a turmeric Ganesha can increase love among family members.

A white Ganesha over the main door is recommended if the door is facing the South. The Ganesha should be placed at East, West or Northeast. DO NOT keep the statue of Ganesha facing South which may have adverse effects. Only one idol of Ganesha should be kept at home. Some people have the tendency to keep multiple statues of Lord Ganesha together, which can disturb the flow of energy.

Vaastu Rules for Cremation

NEVER burn a dead body after sunset. It so happens that due to someone's demise late in the day or arrival of close relatives, the timing of the last rites are delayed. But burning of the pyre after sunset angers the ancestral souls and the dead soul never gets peace. Pranic healing experts recommend burning of the dead body only after 24 hours of death.

Power of the Number Three (3)

The number 3 is not considered auspicious in astrology and vaastu. You may have noticed that many people DO NOT light three candles or oil lamps with one match stick.

According to the beliefs in Hinduism, a deceased person is offered three rotis at once. There is a practice of placing three rotis together in a plate of food before the Trayodashi rites of the deceased. Therefore, keeping three rotis on the plate is considered inauspicious. It is also believed that if a person eats three rotis together on a plate, then a feeling of enmity is aroused. If a person is staying single, he/she should make two or four rotis for consumption. Excess left if any should be fed to cows or dogs.

Mantra for Northeast

Lord Brihaspati is the ruler of the Northeast. And he is responsible for growth and development, prosperity, happiness and knowledge. A strong Guru or Brihaspati in the horoscope bestows a person with all of these. If there is any defect in the Northeast, the Guru becomes weaker. Chant "OM Bhram Brihaspatye Namah" regularly to make your Guru stronger and lessen the ill effects from a defective Northeast.
