GUWAHATI: A total of 10,000 special guests from across India have been invited to witness the Republic Day Parade 2025 at Kartavya Path on January 26, according to an official release by the Ministry of Defence. These invitees include notable individuals from various fields, such as women entrepreneurs, National Award winners, and beneficiaries of flagship government schemes.

Among them, 36 individuals from Assam, North Bengal, Sikkim, and Meghalaya have been selected to represent the region's contributions to ‘Swarnim Bharat’. Special emphasis has been placed on inviting members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) engaged in activities such as income generation, environmental protection, health, nutrition, sanitation, Panchayati Raj institution convergence, and gender empowerment. Priority was given to those who have never visited Delhi before.

During their visit, these guests will not only witness the grand Republic Day celebrations but also explore iconic landmarks, including the National War Memorial and the PM Sangrahalay. They will also participate in interactive sessions with key government ministers to enhance their understanding of India's heritage and governance initiatives.

The Ministry also confirmed that distinguished performers in sports, such as members of the Paralympic contingent, Chess Olympiad medallists, Bridge World Games Silver medallists, and the Snooker World Championship Gold medallist, have been invited. Their inclusion celebrates their outstanding achievements in making the nation proud on the global stage.

This initiative aims to honor individuals who have excelled in diverse fields and utilized government schemes effectively, showcasing their role as architects of India’s progress.
