
New Delhi: On Republic Day 2025, the President of India approved the Police Medals for Distinguished Service and Medals for Meritorious Service to honor the hard work and dedication of police and civil defence personnel.
The Police Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to Vivek Kishore, Additional Director General of Arunachal Pradesh, for his outstanding leadership. In Assam, Indrani Baruah, Deputy Inspector General, received the medal for her significant contributions to maintaining law and order.
The Medal for Meritorious Service in Arunachal Pradesh was given to Issac Pertin, Inspector General, and Bhupen Buragohain, Inspector, for their dedicated service.
In Assam, several officers were recognized, including Rafiul Alam Laskar, Inspector General, and Prasanta Hatiboruah, Platoon Commander. Others honored were Upen Kalita, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Sub Inspectors Khogendra Roy and Chitramohan Rabha. Assistant Sub Inspector Hemen Bhuyan, Inspector Baluram Chaudang, and Havildar Heramba Nath also received the award.
The list of awardees also included Sub Inspector Bibekananda Sarmah, Assistant Sub Inspector Bishnu Prasad Chetry, and Head Constables Dipak Kakati and Sanku Choudhury. Naik Bapdhan Rajbongshi and Constable Gojen Moran were also honored for their efforts.
In the Civil Defence and Home Guards category, Bhuban Kalita, Principal of CTI at Panikhaiti, along with volunteers Utpal Ghosh and Deepankar Borgohain from Jorhat, were recognized for their contributions.
The Director General of Civil Defence and Home Guards, Assam, congratulated all the recipients and encouraged them to continue their good work.
