Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released it manifesto called 'Lok Kalyan Patra' ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections.

The manifesto was released by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP state unit chief Swantantra Dev Singh. The manifesto was earlier scheduled to be launched on February 6; however, the same was postponed after veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away that day.

Taking a cue From Aam Admi Party (AAP), the saffron party in its manifesto has promised free electricity to farmers for agriculture in the next five years. Apart from these, the party has also promised to provide Rs 25,000 crore for 'Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Agri-Infrastructure Mission' to set up cold chain centres, godowns, processing units across the state.

Formulation of Minimum Support Price (MSP) has been promised for wheat and rice.

In a bid to upgrade sugarcane mills and lure sugarcane farmers to vote in its favour, the party has promised to sanction Rs 5000 crore. In addition to this, the saffron party has said in its manifesto that payment to sugarcane farmers will be made within 14 days and, in case of delay, payments will be made with interest.

The party will also develop as many as 6 'Mega Food Parks' in the state, read the manifesto.

Not only for farmers, but the party has also taken care of women in its manifesto by promising to hike financial aid from Rs 15,000 to 20,000 under Mukhya Mantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana.

Another promised which has been made by the party in the manifesto could be the game changer if landed well in the field of war. The party has announced a financial assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh for marriage of girls belonging to poor families.

-- Two free LPG cylinders for women under 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' every Holi and Diwali.

-- In public transport, free commute for women passengers above 60.

-- Rs1000 crore to be used for 'Mission Pink Toilet,' while monthly stipend for widows to be hiked to Rs 1500.

-- CCTV cameras to be installed at public places and near educational institutes. 3000 Pink Police booths to be set up.

-- Under UPPSC, number of women in government jobs to be doubled

-- 'Mission Kayakalp' to be launched to make furniture such as table and benches in primary schools.

-- Modernisation of 30,000 secondary schools, as well as colleges, of the state.

-- With modern infrastructure and world-class facilities, universities, including Aligarh's Raja Mahendra Pratap University and Maharja Suheldev University in Azamgarh.

-- Digital research institutes will be set up in Lucknow and Noida.
