Jharkhand: The tragic ropeway accident in Jharkhand's Deogarh has reportedly led to the death of three people as of now and left many injured.

However, the rescue operation by IAF (Indian Air Force) has succeeded in evacuating 42 people safely who were trapped mid-air in cable cars connecting the Trikut Hills in the Deogarh district of Jharkhand.

As per official reports as many as 50 people are rescued from the cable car stuck mid-air after a technical glitch of the ropeway that resulted in a trolley cars collision on Sunday 10 April at around 04:00 pm.

After the accident was reported on Sunday evening rescue operations on the spot began by combined teams of the Indian Army, AIF, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

The Indian Air Force has initiated a daring rescue operation by deploying its trusted Mi17 V5 transport and heavy lift chopper which is regarded as one of the best helicopters worldwide to perform Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief (HADR).

The IAF with the help of IAF MI17 V5 and Cheetah helicopters has successfully rescued the stranded passengers and tourists on the Jharkhand ropeway who were struggling for more than 40 hours.

The rescue operations were stopped after sunset on Monday evening as the ropeway operates via a dense jungle area that was unable to access by that time.

The forces resumed rescue operation on Tuesday morning and evacuated 10 out of the 15 tourists who remained stuck in the ropeway.

Meanwhile, five people are still hanging mid-air and the rescue team has been continuously making attempt to reach every stranded individual to the earliest.

As per reports, 12 people are injured who are taken to the nearby hospital for medical treatment and efforts are made by officials to provide the best possible treatment.

Among the three deceased, one man died after he fell off an IAF chopper because of losing his grip on a dangling rope amid the rescue operation.

The chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been closely monitoring the relief and rescue operations by ensuring to provide all needed support.
